In recent years, events like Leiria Run, Leiria sobre Rodas (outdoor cars exhibition), Mercado Medieval (Medieval Market) and Entremuralhas (gothic festival held at Leiria’s Castle) have become increasingly popular. Even the European Football Championship games were seen by thousands of people in huge screens in Leiria’s stadium, in order to cheer up Portugal’s team.

Regarding the Leiria’s cultural and natural heritage, you have numerous opportunities to greatly enjoy your day in our city. We strongly recommend you to visit the historic Castelo de Leiria (Leiria’s Castle), MIMO- Museu da Imagem em Movimento (moving images museum), Museu de Leiria (Leiria’s Museum), Moinho de Papel (paper mill), the historic centre of the city, Sé de Leiria (Leiria’s Cathedral) and Lagoa da Ervedeira (Ervedeira’s lagoon).

In addition, get to know our Rio Lis (Leiria’s River) by taking a pleasant walk through Parque do Avião (city’s park). It is a stupendous place to unwind after a stressful day at work. Furthermore, you can also take the opportunity to explore Praça Rodrigues Lobo (town square), where you can drink a coffee with your friends, eat some tapas and delicacies and even have the pleasure of tasting an artisan italian ice cream.
